Visa & Travel for Rehabilitation in China

Which visa do you need?

Most international patients enter China on a standard tourist (L) visa or business (M) visa for a short rehabilitation stay. For longer programs, we provide the invitation letter and supporting medical documents required for a medical (S) visa application.

Important: visa requirements and processing times differ by nationality and by Chinese embassy or consulate. Always confirm the current rules with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country before booking. We supply the hospital-side documents; the application itself is made by you.

Getting to Shanghai

Airports: Pudong International (PVG) for most long-haul flights; Hongqiao International (SHA) for regional and domestic routes.
Airport pickup: included in every program. Our driver meets you at arrivals with a name board.
Transfer time: 45–70 minutes to the hospital in Jing'an District, depending on the airport and traffic.
Arrival day: we recommend arriving in the morning or early afternoon so the first assessment can be scheduled the next day.

Before you fly

Passport valid for at least 6 months
Medical records, imaging and medication list (with generic drug names)
Regular medication in original packaging, enough for the whole stay
Travel insurance documents, if applicable
